The Classroom: A Place For Blogging

With the recent rapid increase in educationally adaptable technological possibilities, educators have not been able to adjust their teaching methods quick enough to keep pace with the changing society. While the resources available through technology are bountiful and useful, the resources outlining and explaining these resources to the older generation of teachers is comparatively much less accessible in one location. Thus, many valuable resources are going unutilized or underutilized.

For this project, my goal was to offer an easy-to-use resource for teachers to incorporate blogs into their curriculum and lesson plans to solve this problem. The theoretical basis for this decision was based on Cynthia Selfe’s call for instruction to increase critical technological literacy. This project was designed to be a good starting point to understanding and utilizing one area of today’s advanced technology in the classroom.

I hope this website will be a valuable resource for educators, parents, and students as we move forward into this advanced technological time. Hopefully, technological literacy instruction will become more prevalent, including the use of blogs. For this change, this website can be a catalyst.
